What to check first
Measure the furniture in advance: if the sofa is longer than 2.2 metres, a small van may not fit it. Check the door and lift size too, the problem is often the entrance rather than the vehicle.
How appliances travel
- A fridge travels upright only; laying it on its side risks the compressor.
- The drum of a washing machine has to be locked with transport bolts.
- A TV is kept upright rather than screen up, and wrapped in soft material.
- Glass shelves are packed separately.
Buying from a classified ad
If the seller is in another city, choose intercity or a backhaul load. Set yourself as the recipient in the order: the code stays with you and the cargo is handed to you only.
Frequently asked questions
Will the driver carry the furniture upstairs?
If a loader is included in the order, yes. Without loaders the driver only loads and unloads at the vehicle.
The shop delivers too, what is the difference?
A shop usually offers its own day and time slot. With YukTap you book a vehicle for the time you need and see it on the map.
Is it worth moving a small item?
Yes, there is a cargo car and a small van for small items, and they are the cheapest option.
