How to calculate the weight
A bag of cement weighs 50 kg, a standard brick about 3.5 kg, a plasterboard sheet 9-12 kg, and a cubic metre of sand roughly 1500 kg. Convert cubic metres into kilograms and choose the vehicle with a margin: overloading is both dangerous and a fine.
Unloading
Sand, gravel and soil need a tipper, which unloads itself. For pallets and long materials a crane truck is convenient: the crane places the material directly on the site.
Access to the site
- Check the approach road and turning space in advance.
- Clear an area for unloading; material cannot be dropped in the middle of the road.
- State in the order who receives the delivery on site and their phone number.
Frequently asked questions
What if I do not know the exact weight?
Give an estimate and add a margin. If the driver finds a heavier load on site, the order has to be recalculated, so booking a larger vehicle in advance is cheaper.
Can you drive at night or early morning?
Yes, you choose the time. Night hours carry a surcharge, which is visible in the price.
Can one order cover several addresses?
Yes, add extra stops to the order; each one appears in the price as a separate line.
